Sometimes you meet people and wonder how they do it all. Maintain simplicity yet have great achievements. Work while raising children. Have deep inner joy that bubbles over into every corner of their lives amidst transition.

Meet Sara, Brannon and baby Rudyard.

These guys have it figured out. They live in the most amazing farm house, surrounded by land (and ponies!) in Petaluma. I’m used to babies taking a while to warm up: Rudd reached straight for me and laid his head on my chest. What! Baby snuggles.

Photographing this sweet family was a retreat for my soul. Did I mention baby snuggles? They’re heading to Princeton, where Sara accepted a position to do PostDoc work (NBD). These pictures are so that Rudd can actually believe that he lived somewhere this gorgeous when he was born.
